

Certificate of Comprehensive Music Studies Program
Each
member (or member's students) can work to achieve certification in at least
one the following areas
• Music Theory
• Music Theory with Scales/Chords Performance
• Repertoire Performance with Music Theory and Scales/Chords Performance
Drummers and non-melodic percussionists may substitute rudiments for scales
and chords on certificates.
Non-chromatic, Single Key Instruments,
or other specialty instruments would substitute the standard scales, exercises
and rudiments for that instrument Check with your instructor to see if your
instrument qualifies for our certificate program.
Instrument Performance will be offered
in one of three levels
1. Fundamental Repertoire Performance (high-beginner level repertoire)
2. Compulsory Repertoire Performance (high-intermediate level repertoire)
3. Advanced Repertoire Performance (advance level repertoire)
We will let you know what is required
to pass each certificate. You and/or your teacher(s) are responsible for studying
the required information. Alumni Associates and Directors will also assist
you with any questions you may have during your study.
All of the areas of certification will be evaluated by our Alumni Associates
and Directors. Upon successful completion of a certificate program, members
will receive an AMEI Certificate of Comprehensive Music Studies relating to
the area(s) of study. Below are all
of the certificates we offer at this time.
Certificate of Comprehensive Music Studies in:
101 Music Theory
102 Music Theory with Scales & Chords Performance
103 Repertoire Performance with Music Theory and Scales/Chords Performance
(Lever 1, 2 or 3)
Drummers and non-melodic percussionists
may substitute rudiments for scales and chords on certificates.

Certificate 102 - $125
Certificate 103 - Level 1... $150 Level
2... $175 Level 3... $200
Tuition for Certificate 103 respectively
depends upon the level of performance.
Notice for Teachers (who are Members) and
non-members
Unless you are a member, your teacher must sign you up for all certificate
programs under his or her membership, and submit all assignments under the
same membership. Certificates will only be sent to members. Members who are
teachers will distribute certificates to their students that have achieved
them.
Teachers may also pass the cost of the tuition on to their students. You might
also choose to charge your students an additional amount to cover the administrative
roll you will take in submitting their information. In addition teachers can
incorporate the training and study of the certificate material into their
regular lessons or add special class training.
